Truro sewer upgradeSouth West Water's £3.5milion scheme to upgrade Truro's sewerage network is now complete.
Since September 2013, we have replaced the sewers in Victoria Square, Kenwyn Street, Little Castle Street, St Dominic Street, Ferris Town, Francis Street and Edward Street with bigger pipes. The improvements were needed because the sewerage network in parts of the city was no longer able to cope with the demands placed on it and properties in the city centre were at significant risk of internal and external sewer flooding. That risk has now been minimised. The scheme was due to be completed in June 2014 but we were delayed by some very wet weather last winter and the need to divert other underground utilities in St Dominic Street and Upper Kenwyn Street to finish the project safely. We would like to thank everyone, particularly local businesses, for their patience and understanding. Last updated: 1 October 2014 |
