Improvements in the pipeline for Westward Ho!

A £60,000 scheme to improve Westward Ho!'s sewer network is due to start next month.

South West Water and its H5O partners are installing 150m of new sewer in the Nelson Road to prevent sewer flooding in the local area.

Work is due to start on Monday 6 January 2014 and will take around four weeks to complete.

Project manager Andy Young said: "It is important we continue to make these improvements to the sewer network which will help alleviate local flooding problems.

"We will be working hard to minimise disruption to the public and businesses as far as possible while completing these essential improvements."

Nelson Road will be closed for four weeks from Saturday 4 January so the new sewer can be installed. Diversion routes will be clearly signed and there will be access for local residents.

All emergency services and other service providers have been informed.
