Out and about with Westward Housing
Angela Rose, Customer Relations Officer highlights the work that is carried out in the local communities with Westward Housing.
As part of my role as a Customer Relations Officer I get to go out and work within our local communities, talking to customers face-to-face about the help and support we can offer if they are struggling to pay their water bill or are already in debt. This week I attended a community event hosted by Westward Housing in Hillson Close, Port Isaac where I met some great people who were really interested to learn about the schemes we have in place to help them pay their bills .
I felt really welcomed and got some great feedback from customers - some surprised that we were there, but they really appreciated being able to discuss any concerns about their bills in their homes or on their doorsteps. They thought it was brilliant that we were working within the community. I gave out some water saving devices as well as several application forms for our Watersure and WaterCare tariffs.
This isn't the first time I have worked with Westward Housing. Over the past year we have worked in partnership at other community events in North Devon and Torbay and I have also trained their Housing Officers so that they can give advice to tenants about the help South West Water can offer and how to access it.
I will be at Paignton Zoo in a couple of weeks time at Westward's tenant engagement day where over 100 residents can hear about ways to save money on their water bills.
