Welcome to the BeachLive blog giving you the chance to have your say on local issues affecting your bathing waters

Devon and Cornwall's stunning coastline is a major attraction for many of the eight million tourists who visit the peninsula each year. The region now enjoys some of the cleanest bathing waters in Europe.

Despite the success of Clean Sweep which saw £2 billion being invested over the past two decades into the biggest environmental clean-up programme of its kind in Europe, more work is needed to keep the region's seas as clean as possible, especially as tougher European Union bathing water standards come into effect in 2015..

South West Water understand that our beaches and bathing waters are very important to all of us in the south west and we want to engage with you in an open discussion to look at the number of topics affecting bathing water quality.

So please join the debate and provide us with you views and ideas on the future of your bathing waters.
