South West Water's suppliers are a key element in our vision of supplying Pure Water, Pure Service and a Pure Environment to our customers throughout the South West and we spend over £200 million each year buying in services and supplies. Achieving quality combined with value for money is our key aim.
Our Procurement team works across South West Water to understand our purchasing requirements for goods and services and to plan how they can be most effectively delivered. Our requirements cover a wide variety of supply markets from construction contracting to stationery and from customer services to pipes with a large proportion of our expenditure on services delivered within the South West region.
Working closely with all areas of the business assisting and managing procurement arrangements, the role of a buyer can include supplier visits, performance reviews, resolution of issues, identifying opportunities to improve business efficiency and negotiation and reviewing of tenders to allow selection of those suppliers who can provide what we need at the best price.
In our department, every day is different. So if you have a head for numbers and enjoy the challenge of working with all areas of the business, procurement could be the place for you.
